Strong Performances for Wolds Boys At Pipers Vale.

Wolds Gymnastics Club’s boys travelled to Ipswich for a busy weekend of national competition, returning home with a collection of excellent results, top-10 finishes and a podium place against some of the country’s strongest young gymnasts.


Competing across the Challenge and Cup categories, every gymnast represented the club superbly, showing confidence, determination and consistency throughout six demanding apparatus.


Oliver & Grayson
Oliver & Grayson

The weekend began strongly in the Under-8 Challenge competition where Grayson produced one of the standout performances of the event. Competing confidently across all apparatus, he secured an impressive 6th place all-around finish. His highlight came on vault, from a controlled vaults earned him a fantastic silver medal. He also demonstrated excellent technique on parallel bars to finish 6th and added another top-10 result with 7th place on pommel. Consistent routines on floor, rings and high bar completed a brilliant all-round competition.


Teammate Oliver also performed strongly in a large and competitive Under-8 field. Despite competing against some very experienced gymnasts, he remained composed throughout to finish 21st all-around. His best performances came on parallel bars, where he secured 13th place, and high bar where he finished 14th following a confident routine. Oliver also achieved a respectable 18th place on pommel, continuing to gain valuable competition experience at national level.


Oscar & Arthur
Oscar & Arthur

In the Under-9 Challenge competition, Oscar delivered a consistent and confident performance across all six pieces to secure an excellent 15th all-around finish. He particularly impressed on the strength apparatus, placing 8th on both rings and vault, whilst narrowly missing out on another top-six finish with 7th place on parallel bars. His clean execution and composure throughout the competition helped him achieve one of his strongest all-around results to date.


Arthur competed alongside Oscar in the Under-9 category and showed great determination throughout a tough competition. He achieved a strong 26th all-around finish, with standout performances on floor and vault where he placed 12th on both apparatus. Arthur battled well through every routine and continued to show excellent progress competing at this level.


Jimmy
Jimmy

In the Under-10 Challenge competition, Jimmy produced one of the club’s strongest all-around results of the weekend, finishing an impressive 9th overall. He showed particular strength on the upper body apparatus, securing excellent 6th place finishes on rings including competing an incredibly technical double back dismount, parallel bars and high bar. His consistency across the competition ensured he remained inside the top 10 against a very strong field of competitors.


Jack
Jack

Jack represented the club in the Under-12 Challenge category and narrowly missed out on a top-10 all-around finish, placing 11th overall. His standout routine came on parallel bars where he delivered an excellent performance to finish 5th. Jack also competed steadily across the remaining apparatus and continued to show his skill level competing in a highly competitive age group.


Luis
Luis

More medal success came in the Under-12 Cup competition, where Luis delivered a superb all-around performance to claim bronze medal position with 3rd place overall. Competing with confidence and precision throughout the day, he also secured an outstanding silver medal on parallel bars with a 2nd place finish and added another podium result on high bar in 3rd place. Further strong scores on floor, pommel and rings helped complete a fantastic competition and cap off a hugely successful weekend for the club.


Coaches were delighted with the performances across the board, throughout the weekend. The competition provided another valuable opportunity for the gymnasts to gain experience at national level and demonstrated the continued progress being made across the boys’ programme at Wolds Gymnastics Club.
