Medals Galore At Barnsley Girls Competition.

What a fantastic day of competition for our girls at the Barnsley Competition! From our youngest gymnasts taking their first competition steps to our experienced performers competing in the higher levels, every gymnast represented Wolds Gymnastics Club with determination, confidence and outstanding sportsmanship.
Across all levels, our gymnasts produced some excellent performances, achieving individual apparatus placings and medals, all-around placings and team success. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see the support, encouragement and team spirit shown throughout the day.
In the Diamond 15+ category, both Maezie and Tilly delivered outstanding performances. Maezie showed great consistency across all four pieces, finishing 2nd on Bars, 3rd on Floor, 4th on Vault and 6th on Beam to secure an impressive 5th place in the all-around standings.
Tilly had a fantastic competition, placing 2nd on Bars, 3rd on Vault and 2nd on Floor, whilst also taking the Beam title with a brilliant 1st place finish. Her performances earned her the title of Diamond 15+ All-Around Champion. Together, Maezie and Tilly combined their scores to become Team Champions, making it a memorable day for the pair.
In the Diamond Under 14 competition, Elsie produced an excellent performance, taking the gold medal on Bars and narrowly missing out on another medal with a strong 4th place finish on Vault.
Our gymnasts competing in the Crystal categories also achieved some fantastic results. In the Under 14 age group, Grace earned a well-deserved bronze medal on Bars and finished 5th on Floor.
In the Under 12 category, Georgie secured bronze on Beam and placed 6th on Floor, while Freya also claimed a bronze medal with her 3rd place finish on Bars.
The Under 8 Opal competition saw Elodie enjoy a brilliant all-around performance. She finished 2nd on both Bars and Floor, added 3rd place finishes on Beam and Vault, and rounded off the day with an excellent 3rd place all-around result.
In the Opal 8 Years category, Lillie H produced one of the standout performances of the competition. After finishing 2nd on Bars, she went on to win both Beam and Vault and secured the title of All-Around Champion. Liv also performed well in the same age group, achieving a strong 4th place finish on Floor.
The Opal 10 Years gymnasts continued the success for Wolds. Hollie earned a bronze medal on Beam and placed 6th on Floor, while Frankie narrowly missed out on a podium position with a solid 4th place finish on Vault.
In the Opal Plus 10 Years competition, Maya had an excellent day, claiming silver medals on both Bars and Vault before finishing 5th overall in the all-around standings. Poppy added a bronze medal on Bars alongside 4th place on Vault and 6th on Beam, while Betsy achieved 5th place on Vault and 6th on Floor. Combining their performances, Poppy, Maya and Betsy secured a fantastic 3rd place team finish.
The competition was another wonderful opportunity for our gymnasts to gain experience, demonstrate their progress and enjoy the rewards of their hard work in training. We are incredibly proud of every gymnast who competed, not only for their results but also for the way they showcased themselves and the club throughout the day.
A huge thank you must also go to our coaching team for all of their dedication in preparing the girls for competition, as well as to the families and supporters who continue to encourage our gymnasts every step of the way.
